Brackley 3, Oxford City 1: Oxford City's Southern League Division 1 West relegation worries increased after they slipped to defeat at Brackley, who boosted their own hopes of claiming a promotion play-off spot.

Brackley, who gave a debut to on-loan signing Danny Morgan from Oxford United, created the first chance when Russ Dunkley forced City keeper Matt Finlay to save at the foot of a post.

However, it was City who went ahead. Colin Simpson ran along the bye-line, before trying his luck with a shot that might have found the net, but was helped in by Darren Beckett as he attempted to clear.

Former City players Jack Smillie and Lewis Craker combined to produced an opening for Brackley, with the latter heading wide from a corner.

However, Brackley were back on level terms after 54 minutes when slack defensive play allowed Dunkley to score from close range.

Two minutes later, Brackley took the lead with Cracker heading home Mike Ford's free-kick.

City, who had already lost Simpson at half-time suffered further injury blows Martin Brown and Robin Antonowicz limped off.

And their misery was complete in the 81st minute when Brackley substitute Carl Wilson-Denis, who looked to be off-side, took advantage of poor marking to race through and score.

The defeat leaves City just four points above the relegation zone.
