They went behind to a ninth-minute strike by Neil Kennedy, but leading scorer Howard Forinton levelled in the 24th minute.
Chris Potter was unlucky when his first-half effort hit the woodwork, but it was backs to the wall for Banbury after the break as the promotion contenders dominated.
The visitors hit the crossbar twice, but Banbury held on for a point.
