Andrew Flint became the new Oxford & District League's individual champion by beating Karl Bushell in the Division 1 final at the Forum, Kidlington.
Bushell made some uncharacteristic errors, against a consistent and determined opponent.
Flint established an early lead in both the first two sets and closed Bushell out.
The battle was really joined in the third set as they fought their way to 9-9.
It looked like the start of a Bushell fightback, but Flint raised his game again and ran out a 11-9, 11-5, 12-10 winner.
The Division 2 final between Arun Jogi and Janet Brown started with the former really struggling.
Every time his loop threatened to put him ahead, Brown found the perfect blocking shot to keep him in check and take the first two sets.
The third looked to be going the same way, until Houdini Jogi found something extra to steal it.
From then on, Jogi was always the favourite, and he took the fourth set 11-3. Brown came back strongly in the fifth, but Jogi was not to be denied.
Alan Wells won a spectacular Division 3 final against John Duncalfe.
Although Duncalfe played well in the first two sets, Wells had all guns blazing, and was smashing the ball everywhere.
During the third set, however, it was clear that the balance had shifted in Duncalfe's favour, and it became another five-setter.
In the decider, Wells regained his composure and ran out the 11-8 winner.
In Division 4, Terry Morris and Nick Lacey were involved in a tremendous battle, that also went to five sets.
Morris came from 2-1 down to force the decider. The momentum stayed with him and allowed him to end up the winner.
Jordan Lee pulled off a remarkable win over Bob Ford in the Division 5 final.
The Forum youngster usually finds Ford's defence too much to handle, but he came up trumps with a fine display of attacking play with controlled aggression.
Lee took the first set 11-3, but Ford was unlucky not to make it one set all, losing the second 12-10.
Ford won the fourth set 11-5 and had several set points to clinch the fourth, but Lee's determination was as strong and he finally clinched it 16-14.
Jake East beat Forum clubmate George May in the Development final.
