Brackley Tn 0, Bedworth Utd 2: Brackley Town's Southern League Division 1 West promotion play-off hopes took a knock as they crashed to defeat at home to lowly Bedworth United on Saturday.
It was also a result which added to Oxford City's relegation fears as Bedworth climbed out of the bottom two.
Brackley suffered a shock in the opening minute when Andrew Crabtree outjumped a static defence to head home from a corner.
Striker Danny Morgan was a constant threat, but the on-loan Oxford United man spurned several chances.
Brackley struggled to contain the lively Michael Swan plus wingers Paul Spacey and Kristan Kelsall.
And, in the 37th minute, Swan got beyond the hosts' square rearguard to fire Bedworth's second past Richard Knight.
Knight had to be at his best to tip over Lee Greenway's header in the second half, while at the other end Morgan was denied by a fine save from keeper Lee Evans.
Brackley Tn: Knight, Beckett, Ford, Dunlop, Craker, Williams, Smillie, J King, Wilson-Denis, Morgan, Crosby. Subs: Foley, O'Sullivan, Dunkley, Clarke.
Attendance: 162.
