Sheila Catterall, a member of Oxford Ladies, walked away with the honours at the Oxfordshire Ladies Bronze Championship qualifying medal competition at Southfield.
But she failed to make it through the knock-out stage of the competition.
From a field of 49, representing most Oxfordshire clubs, Catterall took first scratch prize with a gross 91 on her home course.
Catterall finished four shots ahead of her nearest rival and clubmate Ruth Stockford, also from Oxford Ladies by four shots.
She also won the Bronze Medal Trophy for the best nett score of the day with a 67.
Ruth Stockford took second prize on countback from Betty Lyall (Chipping Norton), both with gross 95s.
The first handicap prize went to Frances Killen, also Oxford Ladies, nett 68 - five shots ahead of runner-up Julie Purcell-Smith, who pipped Rosie Northampton, (Brailes) on countback.
The top eight players from the morning's 18-hole medal qualifier went on to play the first round of the match-play knock-out in the afternoon for the bronze championship title.
Catterall went out to Jo Collingworth (Tadmarton) at the 20th hole, Purcell-Smith (Frilford ) romped home 6 & 4 against Killen and Betty Lyall (Chipping Norton) beat Una Hunt (Frilford).4 & 2.
In the final match, Stockford kept the Oxford Ladies flag flying with a 4 & 3 win against Patsy Upfield, from Tadmarton.
The four winners now go on to play the semi-finals and final for the Bronze title at the Oxfordshire Championships at Southfield on April 13.
The 36-hole qualifying rounds for the Oxfordshire Championship takes place at Southfield on Monday, April 11.
