Talented computing students at Oxford Brookes University are being invited to compete for awards worth up to £1,000.
The Big Oxford Computer Company (BOCC) has donated £5,000 to sponsor two new competitions for students in the department of computing who deal with web security and accessibility.
The awards will be open to final year undergraduate and masters computing students.
Head of department John Nealon said "We are delighted with this new venture - not only does it offer the student a financial reward for months of hard work, but it also gives them a chance to demonstrate their abilities."
Mark Hall, managing director of BOCC, which develops IT systems for local government and non-profit organisations, said: "By working with the university, we hope to promote industry best practice while providing an incentive to students."
The awards will be presented at graduation ceremonies in September and December.
