Head coach Horacio Rodriguez will be back in charge of Oxford United at Shrewsbury tomorrow.

The Argentine (above) has completed the necessary paperwork to enable him to continue working in this country and he was expected to return today in time to take the final training session before the game at Gay Meadow.

But there is no news on manager Ramon Diaz, his compatriot, and when the former World Cup star will be returning to Oxford.

Both men have missed United's last two Coca-Cola League Two matches.

With the U's now 13th and 11 points adrift of seventh-placed Northampton, they have little left to play for this season, on paper at least.

But coach David Oldfield doesn't see it that way.

He said: "With the new management here, everybody needs to be self-motivated to perform as best they can and get the team to the highest position they can.

"Everybody needs to impress the management in every game."

Defender Mateo Corbo was again unable to train yesterday, but Lee Bradbury, who dropped down to the bench against Leyton Orient after suffering a bout of sickness, is back to full fitness.

Shrewsbury are still in relegation danger after picking up just one point from four games, but they have had some big wins at home - 5-0, 4-0, 4-2 and 4-1 against Chester, Darlington, Kidderminster and Orient respectively.

Shrews defender Stuart Whitehead starts a two-game suspension for getting sent off for two bookable offences in Monday's 2-0 defeat at Northampton.

Normally, a two-booking red card results in a one-game ban, but Whitehead was also dismissed in a pre-season friendly.
