Henley Wanderers can finally uncork the champagne after an RFU disciplinary panel confirmed their promotion to South West 2.

Wanderers finished second in South West Counties North, which saw them face Somerset side Frome in a promotion play-off.

But despite winning the game 38-12 on Saturday their fate still hung in the balance at the final whistle.

Henley had been deducted two points for fielding an unregistered player in a league game against Bicester and if the punishment stood, they would have lost second spot.

But, to their relief, an RFU panel upheld their appeal at a meeting on Tuesday night.
