It's hard to believe the change of fortunes of Ramon Diaz. Just five months ago he was sensationally announced as Oxford United's new manager, replacing Graham Rix in the Kassam Stadium hot seat.
And, accepting Kassam's shares instead of pay, he vowed to bring the U's some glory.
But this 'football legend' -- Kassam's words -- was refused entry to Saturday's game, humiliated at the door of the club which, under his management, had a few more wins -- six in the first seven matches -- than it would have had without him and climbed up the League Two ladder, even winning Manager of the Month.
He may not have got the U's to the play-offs, but he certainly saved them from the threat of relegation.
He's 'a friend of a friend', said Kassam when Diaz was appointed. Well, if that's how Firoz treats his friends, one can only wonder how his enemies may feel.
