City of Oxford's Matthew Corbett warmed up for the Midland District Age group Championships by notching four race wins in Coventry.
Corbett, 14, knocked chunks off his already impressive national qualifying times (NQTs) in the 400m and 200m individual medley (IM) and the 200m butterfly.
And with the championships less than three weeks away, his performance in the clubs' May open meeting shows he is hitting form at just the right time.
Corbett clocked 4mins 53.04secs in the 400m IM, 2.19.94 in the 200m IM and 2.15.36 in the 200m fly.
He added a fourth win in the 100m fly and his second-placed finish in the 200m backstroke (2.18.87) was also an NQT.
Laura Ralph, 12, won her 400m IM, 200m freestyle and 200m and 100m breaststroke events.
A second in the 200m IM improved her NQT by two hundredths (2.35.74) and a further third (100m free) gave her the top trophy in her age group.
Facing world class opposition, Sam van de Schootbrugge, also 12, knocked seconds off his NQTs in the 200m IM (2.34.48), 200m back (2.30.57), and 200 free (2.18.73).
This gave him third place overall and was a good rehearsal for the National Championships in July.
Myles Taylor, 13, recorded an excellent fourth in the 100m fly and with it his first long course NQT (1.09.61)
Allanor Jenkins-Strong came third in her freestyle event, frustratingly only a fraction outside her qualifying time for the nationals.
Simon Ward, still competing as an 11-year-old, produced some fine district times in the 400m IM and 200m IM, finishing fifth and 12th respectively.
He also set a personal best in the 200m fly, finishing sixth and just outside a district qualifying time.
Jack Tokelove produced an excellent personal best and district qualifying time in the 200m IM, coming tenth in the 13-year-old age group.
Nicholas Boucher, 18, competing in the long course for the first time in two years, was pleased to achieve fourth place in 200m backstroke and sixth in the 100.
Leanne Brooks, the youngest member of the squad at ten, began her long-course career in promising style with13th place in the 200m breaststroke.
