A soldier who claimed he was raped while based at Bicester did not bear any signs of being violently attacked, a doctor told Oxford Crown Court yesterday.
Terrence McDonald, 22, a private in the Royal Logistics Corps, is standing trial for making a false allegation of rape against fellow serviceman, Fijian Orisi Vasukiwai. He is charged with perverting the course of justice.
Expert witness Dr Robert Turnbull, a police forensic medical examiner, examined McDonald after the claim of rape on March 14 last year. He told the court that McDonald had no physical symptoms of being raped.
Mr Vasukiwai denied the rape charge. He said he went into McDonald's room because he had to find his room-mate who had locked him out. He admitted slapping McDonald after he made a racist remark.
The case continues.
