In print by eight She is only eight but Brianna Elsley is a published author.
Her colourful book tells the story of a mischievous witch called Sooblah and the tricks she plays on people.
Brianna Elsley Brianna came up with idea for Sooblah last summer and later, more and more characters popped into her head.
Her parents Dawn and Darren thought the tale was so good they decided to have the book published for family and friends.
It proved such a big hit with children and parents that the couple decided to print more and sell the book commercially.
Mrs Elsley said: "She has always written stories but this particular one was really good. We got a few copies done and it went from there.
"She has already started her next book so depending on how well this one goes there could be a new one out for Christmas."
Her husband added: "Not only do we think it is a superb story written by an eight-year-old, but it can only inspire other young children to write."
The book, aimed at children aged five to nine, has been professionally illustrated by Nigel Snell.
The family, who live in Slade Road, Didcot, have been selling the book at fairs and fetes and it is now available at WH Smith in Didcot and the Bookstore in Abingdon, or online at www.sooblahthewitch.co.uk
