I was surprised by the lack of interest shown by the candidates for both the Parliamentary and county elections in the part of Abingdon where I live.
In previous run-ups to an election, there have been public meetings and canvassing by all parties, so we, the public, can meet the candidates.
But this time, nothing.
I phoned the local office of the party I had chosen to vote for, for window posters with the names of the candidates.
I was surprised as each poster had only the political party -- which led me to believe that I may be voting for paper candidates.
