People from across the Vale of White Horse will be striding out in a sponsored walk in aid of the Poppy Appeal.
The walk on May 15 will start from Harwell Royal British Legion Club, with people walking either 10 or 15 miles, before enjoying a barbecue and entertainment back at the club.
And between June 6 and 9 a black Labrador called Inca will walk at least 60 miles from Wantage to the end of the Ridgeway at Ivinghoe Beacon to drum up more funds for the Poppy Appeal. David Drew, honorary branch secretary of the Wantage branch of the Royal British Legion, will be accompanying Inca along with supporters and their dogs.
The Wantage RBL, along with the Wantage Royal Naval Association and the Wantage and District Royal Air Forces Association, are commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of World War 2 at a joint party on September 2 at The Challows RBL club.
To sponsor walkers this weekend or Inca, call Mr Drew on 01235 835213.
