Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Wootton, near Abingdon, when a man walked into the home of a pensioner and stole money from her purse.
A neighbour saw a man entering the elderly woman's house off Besselsleigh Road at about 1pm on Friday.
He stole cash from a purse in the kitchen. The woman was in the house at the time.
The intruder was white, aged between 40 and 50 and of stocky build. He was wearing a long sleeve white top, dark trousers and possibly glasses.
Ross Duff, of Abingdon CID, said the burglar may have been seen earlier looking at houses in the village.
He added: "I am keen to speak to a man who was seen on Saturday at around 5.30am, who appeared to be looking at some houses in the same area."
The man is described as white, aged between 40 and 50, about 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a trilby hat, a light coloured fleece, dark trousers, brown lace-up shoes and glasses. Police want the man to get in touch so he can be eliminated from inquiries.
