Andrew McGregor attacks me for applauding the Government's efforts to reduce waiting times for patients in A&E (Oxford Mail, May 12) .
He seems to think it is fine for sick and injured people to wait five or six hours or more. Shame on him!
If they are kept waiting for things like blood test results, hospitals need to find ways to speed these up.
In some countries, the average wait is much less than our current target of under four hours. This is what we should be aiming at, as I'm sure most people would agree. SUSANNA PRESSEL (Councillor), Jericho and Osney ward, Oxford City Council
