But both sides came within a whisker of victory in a tight finish at Chippy.

Teenager Tom Woolley and his Burford opponent Tom Potter both missed final-green putts to clinch match one that would have proved crucial overall.

Wins for Danny Hicks and Andrew Halby (Chippy) and John Wilks and Adam Salter (Burford) left the scores tied.

Frilford Heath continued their revival with a second victory on the bounce thanks to wins from Graham Hart and Ian Disney and Alex Gavrilovic and Dave King.

Bicester leapt to the top of Section 3 after whitewashing Shrivenham Park 4-0.

The rout was even more impressive as Tim Horn and Richard Upton recovered from three down with five to play to take match one by two holes.

Witney Lakes kept in touch with Section 4 leaders Waterstock following a big victory at Carswell.

Kirtlington and Magnolia Park now complete the second-round line-up in the league's knock-out competition. Ties must be played by July 10.
