A man who pointed an airgun at a driver he believed had threatened him during a road rage incident has been jailed for six months.
Robert Howse, 21, of The Square, Milton-under- Wychwood, waved the pistol out of his car window at Christopher Giedrojc after the incident in March.
Cathy Olliver, prosecuting, said Mr Giedrojc was driving his van along the main road in Milton-under-Wychwood on March 16 when he turned the corner, hit the kerb and started going backwards.
Howse was behind and sounded his horn.
After a few words between the pair Mr Giedrojc drove to a house where he was working, the court was told.
Ms Oliver said: "He saw Howse drive up and point a gun at him from the window of his car. He believed it was a hand gun and was in fear."
Police were called and found Howse in his car. The gun was back at his house and on questioning he also pointed out a small amount of cannabis tucked in his sock.
Howse pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing an airgun with intent to cause fear and one charge of possessing cannabis.
Hugh Williams, defending, said Howse thought Mr Giedrojc had spoken aggressively to him during the earlier incident.
Howse was also sentenced to one day in custody for possession of cannabis.
