A civil dispute about redevelopment plans at a mobile home park in Blewbury, near Didcot, has left some residents feeling like "prisoners" in their properties.

About 30 members of the Ladycroft Park Residents Association brought the civil action against landlord Maurice Sines after bulldozers moved in and began demolishing rental properties.

Stephen Akid, chairman of the residents association, said: "It is our homes which are at stake. We can't sell to anybody and nobody wants to buy these places now. We are prisoners in our own homes.

"We will stay here and fight him.

"We have the support of the whole village which is very nice."

Mr Akid made the comments after a judge ruled against broadening the scope of an injunction which prevents Mr Sines from redeveloping the site.

The order was made by Oxford County Court in February following a catalogue of alleged incidents including harassment and intimidation.

Mr Sines said the residents were falsely accusing him of wrongdoing, when all he was trying to do was bring the park up to "five-star" standards.

Speaking at Oxford Crown Court, Judge Charles Harris QC said: "I am not going to extend the injunction.

"We have warned the defendant about our concerns and he seems to have behaved himself for the last few months."

The injunction runs until a court case in September.
