A group of Abingdon pupils were evacuated to a village primary school to give children an insight into life in the Second World War.
Dressed in war-time clothing, more than 60 pupils from St Thomas Reade Primary School were taken to Wootton St Peter CoE Primary during the event to commemorate VE day.
Kevin Dando, headteacher at the school in Wotton, said: "We have links with Thomas Reade and after looking through the log books, we discovered that children from Abingdon were evacuated to Wootton back in 1939.
"We wanted to recreate that. It was very realistic and made you realise what it would have been like for village schools to be suddenly deluged by pupils."
