New self-service ticket machines have been unveiled at train stations in Banbury and Kings Sutton.

The new facilities have been installed by Chiltern Railways as part of a £1.7m project to provide fast and reliable ticket sales in most stations along its route.

Other stations between London Marylebone and Birmingham will receive new machines in the next few weeks.

Chiltern's marketing manager, David Whitley, said: "The investment in new self-service ticket machines is good news for all our passengers, but especially important for Kings Sutton, as it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the village.

"For the first time in many years, passengers travelling from the station will be able to find out fares and buy tickets quickly and easily.

"The new 'fast-ticket' machines are easy to use and customers just follow the on-screen instructions."

The touch-screen machines sell single and return tickets to most UK destinations, as well as seven-day season tickets -- the first time such tickets have been available from self-service machines.

Customers can pay by cash or credit/debit card.
