David Slade's five-wicket haul couldn't save Challow & Childrey from a crushing 138-run defeat in their third-round tie at Havant.

The Oxfordshire seamer picked up 5-62, but Havant still amassed 274-6 after electing to bat, with opener Will Prozesky hammering 122.

He shared a second-wicket stand of 180 with Tom Cledwyn (56).

Challow then caved in to 136 all out, with only opener Mark Podbury (71no) showing any resistance.

Bjorn Mordt hit a century as Henley beat Basingstoke & North Hants on run rate at the Breakspear ground.

The Berkshire wicket-keeper/batsman made 114 off 111 balls to take Henley to a formidable 305-7 off their 45 overs after they were put into bat.

He was given good support by skipper David Allaway, who made an unbeaten 61, and David Taylor, with 47.

Openers Ian Maynard and Ross Hunter put on 99 for Basingstoke's first wicket, but they lost four wickets for one run.

The heavens then opened, and with Basingstoke 124-5 off 25 overs, Henley were comfortably ahead on run rate when the game was called off.

A heavy downpour led Thame Town to concede their tie against Bournemouth when they were facing a uphill task.

Chasing Bournemouth's 206-6 off 44 overs, Thame were in dire straits at 59-7 off 18 overs, thanks to a deadly spell from Joe Wilson (5-29) when torrential rain fell.

With 20 overs needed to be bowled for it to be classified as a game, Thame needed 94 to win on run rate.

But skipper Rob Brooks decided sportingly that his side were beaten and declared the remaining batsman out to give Bournemouth a 147-run victory and prevent a trip to the south coast for a replay.

Thame had earlier put Bournemouth in trouble at 54-5 after putting them into bat, with seamer Luke Merry picking up 3-32.

But then captain Richard Scott came to his side's rescue with an unbeaten 106.

The intervention of the weather means Banbury must try again against Knowle & Dorridge at White Post Road.

Having made 229 off 45 overs, Banbury had the visitors in some trouble at 22-2 off nine overs with Simon Launder doing the damage when the heavens opened.

The game was abandoned, and the two sides will try again at Banbury on Sunday, June 5 (1pm).
