Former Witney MP Shaun Woodward has put his 459-acre Oxfordshire estate on the market for £25m.
The Labour junior minister, who defected from the Conservative party in 1999 while MP for Witney, has lived at Sarsden House, near Churchill, for 11 years.
Mr Woodward and his wife Camilla, heiress to the Sainsbury fortune, own several other properties where they intend to live, including one in Oxford.
A spokesman for Mr Woodward, Christopher Broadbent, said: "It's one of the most beautiful houses in the county, and the Woodwards have spent 11 years restoring it. It was nearly derelict when they bought it in 1994, and they've restored it to its original glory, so it's now absolutely stunning.
"They do have other homes, including one in Oxford so they're not abandoning ship completely."
