Pupils at Cooper School in Bicester have decided to raise money for cancer research after they heard singer Kylie Minogue had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The children came up with a number of ideas, including a Pink Cake Sale, to tie in with the pink ribbons for cancer awareness, and a Fun Run, which they hope to hold next term.
Acting headteacher Pauline Wainman said: "The pupils were originally invited to create a display for the library and as the latest breaking news was about Kylie, they decided that this would be the theme of the display.
The school is already busy working for charity with its annual music festival Live @ Cooper, to be held in July.
Proceeds from the first day of the two-day event will go to cancer research in memory of the father of one of the band members.
