A CENTURY by Simon Hole led Shipton-under-Wychwood to a mammoth score at home to Buckingham on Saturday in Cherwell League Division 1.
Hole hit a fine 113, and shared a second-wicket stand of 209 with Paul Hemming (86).
Then Jason Constable rounded off the innings with 62 in 28 minutes as Shipton finished on 325-9. Chris Harris deserves credit for keeping going with the ball, taking 6-75.
Buckingham, who had decided to bat second, were 159-9 in the 41st over.
But a valiant last-wicket partnership of 40 took them within eight balls of securing a draw before Shipton seamer Ian Lewis secured a 126-run victory for his side.
To make matters worse for Buckingham, they lost one point for a slow over rate.
Mohson Rana hit an unbeaten 125 to steer Oxford 2nd side to their first win in the top flight at the expense of Banbury Twenty.
In another high-scoring match, Rana received valuable support from Francois Vainker (58) as Oxford sneaked home by two wickets.
Earlier, Richard Hawkins finished on 112 not out as Twenty, who chose to bat, made 256-6. Dharhendra Patel took 3-33.
Twenty lost three points and Oxford two for their slow over rates.
