Kevin Baker was in brilliant form with 16 dolls (5-5-6) for Cricketers as they blew away Plough 3-0 in their Premier Section clash, writes ANDY BEAL.

Phil Wilkins also hit a six in his 14 doll-haul for Cricketers, who easily took all three legs 28-18, 34-22, 26-20.

Garsington Sports hit a formidable 95 dolls in their 3-0 defeat over Highfield Club.

Trevor Greenaway recorded his third six in four weeks to top score with 14 dolls, and teammate Andy Young also whipped off a six in the leg scores of 33-27, 31-18, 31-27.

The clash between George and White House produced three sixes, one each for Dave Sawyer, Kevin Giles and Paul Whyte with George claiming all three points 34-23, 29-25, 27-26.

The more consistent throwing of Cowley Workers saw them take all three points at home to The Woodman in Section 2.

Eamon Hanlon led the way with a baker's dozen in the scores of 25-15, 19-14, 26-21.

Star's Dave Leigh and Keith Powell bagged themselves a six apiece in the 2-1 defeat of Plough. After losing the first leg 19-17, they took the next two 21-17, 22-16.

Dave Britnell was the hero of the hour for Green Club in their narrow 2-1 away win at Red Lion Garsington.

After losing the first leg 22-16, Britnell hit the winning dolls in the next two legs to snatch them 24-21, 26-25. Terry Lester (5-4-4) threw well for his 13 dolls.

In Section 4, Kidlington Sports' Simon Dickens (4-5-5) was the difference between the two teams as he hit an impressive 14 dolls as he helped them to a 3-0 win away at Fairview.

It was unlucky 13 for Golden Ball's Monty Morgan (5-4-4) as they lost out at home 2-1 to Masons.

Despite scoring more dolls, Highfield still lost out 2-1 to Vikings A in Section 6.

The first leg was tied at 16-16, with Vikings winning the three-stick shoot-out.

Highfield then set 19 which Vikings snatched by one stick with anchor man Kevin Masterson hitting the winning doll.

Vikings set the last leg with 15, which Highfield passed with ease, hitting 21 and winning a consolation point.

In Section 9, Ashley Rowles hit a rare six, but it was not enough as Cavalier lost 2-1 at Yarnton British Legion. The first two legs went to the legion 12-8, 11-9, but Rowles's six in the final leg inspired Cavalier to take the third14-13.

Newcomers Somerset House were unlucky to go down 2-1 to The Cricketers in Section 11.

They lost the first leg on three sticks after tying 8-8, but pulled a tremendous 20 out of the bag to win the second.

Somerset nicked the decider 11-10.
