SCHOOLCHILDREN aged 11 and under, with an accompanying paying adult, will be admitted free for Oxford Silver Machine's Elite League encounter at home to Wolverhampton tonight.

In an attempt to boost attendances at Cowley, Oxford have introduced a 'child friendly' scheme that will run until the end of the season.

Adults, with the kids, will pay the normal fee of £14. Schools will then receive £4 for every adult, representing their school.

This ensures that parents have responsibility for the supervision of their children.

It is an opportunity for the kids to see some of the world's top riders including former world champion Hancock and, eventually, Billy Hamill.

To support schools' fundraising efforts, promoter Nigel Wagstaff is inviting different schools to meetings throughout the season.

Schools who would like to participate in this project can contact Tony Draper (Schools Liaison Officer) by e-mail at tony.draper@milton- keynes.gov.uk or on 0776 192 1912.

Oxford Silver Machine go into the clash without top gun Niels Kristian Iversen. The Denmark ace is absent because of Danish Federation commitments.

His place will be filled with Polish rider Mikael Makovsky.

The Wolves, skippered by former Oxford star Steve Johnston, are an improved outfit.

But they suffered a blow with an injury to the consistent David Howe.

They will use rider-replacement in his absence.
