Shelley Arms A's teenager Nicola Slay was in brilliant form as she won a leg against five-times world champion Trina Gulliver during their 7-2 defeat by Shears, Wantage.
The 14-year-old's success came during the pairs competition, where she and Sue Smith took on Gulliver and Shirley Lawrence.
Although the Shelley pair lost 2-1, Slay hit a double 17 to take a leg off Gulliver and enjoy her moment of glory.
Earlier, Aimee Francis hit a maximum 180 as she beat Iris Doyle to give them a 1-0 lead. The latter also hit a 180.
Tha Wantage outfit then hit back to take a 4-1 advantage through Gulliver, Gill Cox, Clare Bywaters and Angie Godfrey.
Although Shelley pulled a game back, Shears cruised in.
