Cowley Community Centre's Nick Cobb held his nerve to win the men's winter singles title with a thrilling victory over College Oak's Bob Pollard at the 79th finals night.

Watched by a large crowd, Pollard and Cobb shared the opening two legs.

Pollard looked to have the measure of Cobb when he had two darts at a double, with Cobb requiring 92.

However, he missed, only for Cobb to hit the wrong double.

Pollard missed his doubles again and Cobb took advantage with a brilliant 92 finish and a double 12 to clinch his first Oxford and District singles title.

Sandra Cox, from Red Lion, clinched her fifth ladies' singles title after seeing off teammate Julie Cole.

Cole took an early lead in the first leg. But that elusive double would not come and Cox fought back with a double-18 finish.

Cox then won the second leg to claim the title.

Father and son team Jim and Jon Jukes proved too strong for Paul Bustin and Fred Parsons (Three Horseshoes) as they lifted the men's winter pairs title.

The Cowley Community Centre duo of Karen Williams and Denise Pape won the new ladies' pairs crown after defeating the Blackbird Bar pairing of Claudia and Shas Thompson.

Williams's superb finishing power the deciding factor.

The men's four -a-side title was won by Railway Social Club, who defeated The Shears, Wantage.

The ladies' three-a-side champions are Tina Walton, Lydia Harper and Katie Ward from the Gladiators Social Club, who got the better of Shelley Arms.

The Shelley Arms duo of Sue Smith and Simon Powell lifted the Peter Bampton Cup after beating Cherwell Club pairing of Claire and Kevin Middleton in the mixed pairs final.

Cowley Community picked up their fourth title when Ray and Denise Pape teamed up with Paulette Guy and Steve Willoughby to defeat Sutton Courtenay FC in the mixed fours final.

Railway Social Club A added the men's seven-a-side cup to their men's Premier title when wins from Ollie Varney, Barry Stratford, Steve Foster and Richard Parker earned them a 4-2 win over beaten finalists Shelley Arms C.

The ladies' seven-a-side saw Shears land the Premier League and Cup double when they beat arch rivals Cowley Community Centre A 4-1 with wins from five times world champion Trina Gulliver, Gill Cox, Claire Bywaters and Shirley Lawrence.
