Townspeople, groups and organisations are being urged to don military costume and take part in Bicester's carnival procession on July 10.
Organised by Bicester Town Council, the summer carnival's theme is all about battles and has been called Victory, Hope and Future.
Scouts plan to recreate the Battle of Trafalgar on a float, and the council wants more people to join in.
Among the attractions at the event, which takes place on the Oxford Road sports field, will be battle re-enactments falconry displays, quad bikes and go karts, a fair, as well as a host of stalls and refreshments.
