My deepest sympathy goes to all families of those caught up in the tragic accident on Oxford's Eastern Bypass.
Richard Dix and his team from the county council need to travel this stretch of road every day for a week. They would soon see how dangerous it is.
We, as individuals and members of our local residents' association have written repeatedly to Mr Dix about the stretch of road from the Six Bells to Homebase.
Often lorries thunder along and can't stop at the Homebase lights. There are so often near misses.
I walk across those lights with a dog every day. It is not safe even when the green man is in one's favour.
Most of the Wood Farm side of the road is now a built-up area, so why is there not a 50mph speed limit?
Mr Dix has been quoted as saying central barriers cost £30 a metre, but the cost of life is priceless.
