A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an investigation into how a pupil received injuries to his back while attending a special school in Oxfordshire.
Nigel and Belinda Isle, of Evenlode Drive, Berinsfield, claim their 11-year-old son Aiden came home from the Kingfisher School, in Abingdon, on Thursday, May 19, with carpet burn injuries to his back. After picking him up from school and discovering his injuries, the couple reported the matter to police.
Aiden, who has cerebral palsy, which means he has poor co-ordination and learning difficulties, was home tutored until three months ago when he started at the special school.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with an incident at a school in Abingdon on Thursday, May 19. He has been released on bail until June 28."
