Oxford will welcome back Middlesex-contracted all-rounder Johnny Nambiar for tomorrow's CCS Home Counties Premier League fixture with high-flying Slough at Roman Way.

Nambiar replaces John Williams in the side and captain Pat Jobson believes he will give the team a much-needed boost.

He said: "Johnny got a contract last year. He has been at university in Surrey and has now finished his degree.

"He is a batsman who can bowl as well and has played well for us in the past."

Slough may be third in Division 1, but they will have good reason to fear Nambiar as he smashed 123 against them in 2003 - Oxford's highest Home Counties League score.

Fit-again Dave Angove moves up from the seconds and Ian Evans is back after missing last week's loss to Finchampstead.

Philip Evans is playing for Cardiff UCCE, while Tom Fox drops down to the seconds.

Jobson said: "Last week was disappointing. It was the only game this year I didn't think we had a chance of winning.

"With the exception of the spinners, we are not bowling very well, which is why we've made these changes.

"I think the balance of the team is slightly better now and it gives us more ammunition."

Banbury captain Richard Kaufman is looking for Craig Haupt to be the man for the big occasion when they host High Wycombe in a top-of-the-table clash.

The batsman has been in good nick this season, but has yet to rack up a ton.

Kaufman expects High Wycombe to provide his side's toughest test yet and admits another substantial Haupt knock would not go amiss.

He said: "I quite fancy Craig Haupt for a big innings.

"He tends to be the match-winner when we play the big games."

Opening batsman Andrew Sabin replaces Steve Beck as the only Banbury change.

Kaufman described last week's nine-wicket defeat of North Mymms as a "profesional performance" and tomorow's clash as a "musn't lose game".

He said: "If we win, we really are favourites."

Kaufman added: "We won the last eight or nine games last season and have won three out of four this year.

"We are playing good cricket and we have a stronger side than we had last year."

Fifth-placed Henley travel to Finchampstead, who are just above them in the league.

Last week's three-wicket win over Reading was the defending champions' second victory in a row and will give them renewed confidence after their shaky start to the season.

A third win on the bounce would see them climb above their opponents, but Banbury and High Wycomble already look to be pulling away at the top.
