Students are demanding refunds from a language school in Oxford which closed down with just three days' notice.
Windsor English closed its Oxford branch on June 2, blaming problems with the lease on its rented premises in London Place, St Clements.
Some of the 25 students affected have been offered places at the company's branches in Windsor and London, while others are being taught temporarily at other Oxford language schools.
Ayako Tagawa, 24, who came to Oxford from Japan to study at the school, has only completed half her year-long course.
She does not want to commute every day from Oxford to another centre but has been refused a refund on her £795 fee.
She said: "I'm disappointed, and worried about losing my visa.
"I'm also worried about finding another school that I can afford. If I don't, I will have to go home to Japan. International students pay a lot of money to get here and it was a big thing for me to come here to study."
Her boyfriend Matthew Fryett, 21, who has been trying to get compensation from the school, said: "It's bad that international students are in this position. They can't speak the language very well and schools like this have more of a responsibility to take care of them."
Mexican student Amalia Mendiola, 32, who has completed eight months of her nine month course, said some students did not realise the school had closed until they turned up for class.
She said: "There were some students in the school on Thursday waiting for their teacher to arrive and some men came in and told them they had to leave the building. It's terrible because some people have one year left of their course and the school says it won't repay them."
Ashley Arnold, group manager for Windsor Schools, which has centres across Europe, said he was unsure exactly why the Oxford branch had to close suddenly.
He said: "We had to leave at a moment's notice and it was beyond our control. I understand the students are upset and we are doing everything we can.
"Some other language schools can take the students for one month at least and we are trying to find a long-term solution. We have offered places in Windsor and London and will pay the travel expenses.
"We're concentrating on the people who have good attendance."
