Oxfordshire girls under 17s triumphed in the final of the inter-county tournament in Pontefract, Yorkshire.
The annual competition is open to all counties in England and Wales, and Oxon's victory was all the more remarkable as it was the first time they had been represented in the finals.
Oxon had already defeated teams from Norfolk, Sussex and Surrey earlier in the year to get to the finals, and despite playing away from home, they saw off Yorkshire 4-2 in the semi-final, before beating Cheshire by the same scoreline in the final.
The team have played together for many years, with all but one of them starting their careers at Witney.
The team were Julie Peachy, Chloe Marshall, Katherine Quarterman, Holly Cox and Amanda Edwards, all from Witney, and Bethan John, from Thame.
