scales heights RUTH Hampson finished ninth in the International Combined Events meeting & AAA National Under 20s Heptathlon Championships in Hexham, Northumberland, amassing a personal best score of 3,450 points.
On the first day, The Abingdon Amblers' athlete set three personal bests, clocking 16.85secs in the 100m hurdles, clearing 1.39m in the high jump and throwing 8.77m in the shot.
She finished the day with a season's best of 27.91secs in the 200m.
On day two, she leapt 4.38m in the long jump, threw a personal best of 22.15m in the javelin and clocked 2.44.69 in the 800m.
Hampson was the only Oxfordshire athlete int the competition.
Colchester Harriers' Catherine Holdsworth won the event with 5,005 points.
