Banbury spinner Luke Ryan will tomorrow swap a Division 1 clash with Basingstoke for Bristol and England versus Australia.

The 16-year-old Gloucestershire academy player will be warming up the likes of Andrew Flintoff and Ricky Ponting ahead of Sunday's Natwest Series clash.

His absence means a recall for 22-year-old all-rounder Calum Taylor, who skipper Richard Kaufman believes has earned his chance.

Kaufman said: "He has been scoring quite a lot of runs this year, he has got a couple of 50s for the seconds.

"He has scored a hundred before in the Home Counties Premier League, and has also taken six wickets.

"He played at the end of last season and has been fighting hard to get back in."

Taylor is the only change for the trip to bottom club Basingstoke, where Kaufman is planning a more positive approach than they used in last week's draw against High Wycombe.

Oxford captain Pat Jobson says the league is getting closer to call by the week as his side prepare for the trip to North Mymms.

Last week's 60-run victory over Slough saw Oxford leap from eighth to fourth, and Jobson feels many teams still have realistic title hopes.

He said: "The league is just so tight at the moment.

"We'll just keep going, but if we can get two wins in a row that could really make a difference."

Seam bowler Ali Shah replaces Ian Crosby in a move that Jobson hopes will give the side better balance.

He said: "Ian just needs to get some time at the crease and we want another seam bowling option."

Eighth-placed Henley travel to Finchampstead, who are fifth, looking to bounce back following last week's 75-run defeat against Basing- stoke.

TOMORROW'S TEAMS

Banbury (v Basingstoke, away): P Taylor, Sabin, Haupt, Kaufman (capt), Rorich, Harding, Launder, Murrey, C Taylor, Wolstenholme, Phillips.

Oxford (v North Mymms, away): Cook, Jobson, Laudat, Sekhri, Mendis, I Evans, Shah, Williams, J Evans, Angove, R Evans.

Bicester & North Oxford will be without all-rounder Richard Lynch and skipper Ian Bryan for the visit of Burnham in Division 2 West.

Bryan is away on a stag weekend, while Lynch is out for three weeks after pulling a hamstring while playing for Oxfordshire on Sunday.

Darryl Woods, fresh from a century against Aston Rowant, is likely to captain the side, while county skipper Ian Hawtin is also back.

Colin Williams comes in for the unavailable Ben Chapman after some good batting displays in the seconds.

Leaders Thame Town welcome back batsman Adam Krol for the visit of Farnham Royal.

Krol was a late withdrawal last week after failing to recover from a facial injury, but replaces Ed Holland tomorrow.

Captain Rob Brooks said: "If we can keep winning the toss that will be a big factor.

"Now the wickets are drying out, it's important to control the game."

Simon Tremlin replaces Andrew Levick behind the stumps for Aston Rowant's trip to Beaconsfield.

Tremlin is the groundsman at Wormsley, but has got the week off, while Tom Needham is back from university to replace the holidaying Chris Davis.

Skipper Chris Eaton hopes his side's Oxfordshire Cup victory will boost confidence all round.

He said: "One of us needs to get a win from somewhere to climb up the table."
