Oxfordshire opener Adam Cook hit his maiden Minor Counties Championship century on the opening day of the Western Division clash against Devon at Challow & Childrey yesterday.
The Oxford batsman, left stranded on 99 not out in the county's opening three-day match against Wiltshire at Banbury last month, made 118 out of Oxon's 325-9 after they won the toss and batted.
Cook's runs came off 262 balls with 19 fours before he became the fourth wicket to fall with the score on 285 - one of four victims for former Bicester & North Oxford left-arm spinner Arwyn Jones.
Cook, who hit 102 for Oxford on Saturday, shared in an opening stand of 144 with Stewart Laudat, who made 71 with a six and 14 fours.
Craig Haupt then chipped in with 50, with 44 coming in boundaries.
Oxon lost a flurry of wickets as they chased the fourth batting point which they secured off the last ball of their 90 overs.
Jones bowled in tandem with off-spinner Andy Procter, who picked up 4-113 from his marathon stint.
Oxon then reduced Devon to 82-2 by the close. Keith Arnold ripped through the defence of Sri Lankan opener Arul Suppiah, who hit a double century in Devon's last outing against Dorset.
And Stuart Hole, making his Minor Counties Championship debut, claimed his first wicket when he had Richard Foan caught behind by wicket-keeper Ian Hawtin.
Former Middlesex and Kent seamer Jamie Hewitt's first over in Minor Counties cricket was less memorable as it went for 18.
