CCS Home Counties League: Opener Adam Cook hit a century as Oxford were held to a draw in Division 1 at North Mymms on Saturday.
The toss again proved crucial as North Mymms inserted Oxford on a boiling hot day and a flat track.
Captain Pat Jobson set his sights on a total of more than 300. And Cook led the way with 102. But his dismissal and those of Stewart Laudat (32), Ronak Sekhri (43) and Ian Evans (30) at important times meant they finished on 283-9.
Wendell Roberts was the pick of the home side's bowlers with 3-50.
Rupert Evans (4-67) soon had North Mymms in trouble at 56-4, with another exhibition of off-spin bowling.
And he would have added to his tally if catches hadn't been dropped.
A stand of 124 between Neil Bamford (79) and Jon Mather (52) stopped the rot for North Mymms.
And, despite fine spells from spinners Shamilal Mendis and Sekhri, Oxford were frustrated by a rather negative home side, who finished on 205-7.
