Now that the Government has abandoned its plans for an accommodation centre for asylum seekers near Bicester, I wonder whether it would be possible for the health centre, clinic, gym, swimming pool, library and other amenities due to be built there, to be transferred to Rose Hill, Oxford.
The Government would have spent this money, therefore it would not show as an expenditure or upset the Chancellor's budgetary reckoning for the year.
It would provide Rose Hill with many of the amenities it lacks.
They would be appreciated by all residents as, year after year, funds for the regeneration of the area have been declined.
An opportunity has arisen and must not be missed. Vim Rodrigo, Rivermead Road, Rose Hill, Oxford
