A determined partnership of 68 between Joe Porter and captain Ian Hawtin clawed Oxfordshire back into contention in their Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash with Devon yesterday.
Oxon are 201 runs ahead with three wickets remaining, and Hawtin is hopeful his side can engineer a result at Challow today.
He said: "If we can put on another 50 or 60 runs, I think that will give us something to bowl at.
"At the end of the day, we'll have a score on the board and I think that's a big plus on a wicket that is wearing and breaking up. Hopefully we'll be able to bowl them out."
