Fair play to Vim Rodrigo (Oxford Mail, June 18) for fighting Rose Hill's corner when he suggests money put aside for the asylum seekers' accommodation centre at Bicester should be used for Rose Hill.
I think the residents of Bicester would have something to say about that.
They have fought so hard to keep the asylum centre away.
The powers-that-be would do well to look at the town's facilities, or lack of them.
There is no cinema, and the swimming pool is abysmal.
There are many other facilities needed to bring Bicester up to the modern standards of a county town.
While on the subject, why is the old Heyford camp still in working order? Here are all the facilities which include shops, swimming pool, medical centre etc.
Perhaps the detainees who will probably get the money allocated for the asylum centre could bring Heyford up to scratch.
It would keep them busy until other accommodation is found for them. Mary Stiff, Corunna Crescent, Cowley, Oxford
