Oxford United's season- ticket sales passed the 1,000 mark over the weekend.
And although the figure is below the tally at the same stage last year, it shows that the diehard U's fans are remaining loyal to the club.
Ticket office supervisor Dawn Wylie said: "Sales have been quite steady and were up to 1,000 by the end of business on Friday.
"The're down a little bit on last year, but only by 30 to 50. We expect quite a few more this week when it's pay day."
Many fans are waiting to see whether new United manager Brain Talbot can bring in a striker with a proven goalscoring record before committing them- selves to a season ticket, following Tommy Mooney's move to Wycombe.
Talbot has already signed four players since taking over - goalkeeper Billy Turley, defender Chris Willmott and midfielders Lee Mansell and Stuart Gray. Mansell can also play at right back.
United's players return to pre-season training later this week.
