CCS Home Counties League Division 2 West: A century by Darryl Woods and a devastating spell from Lee Mason secured Bicester & North Oxford a convincing 111-run victory at North Maidenhead on Saturday.
Woods made an undefeated 106 as Bicester's batsmen grafted for runs on a slow, green pitch.
After 49 overs, Woods was forced to have a runner, due to cramp. Alex Jewell was selected and this enabled Woods to score twice as fast as normal.
An exception to the sedate batting display was Tauqeer Hussain, who scored 38 off only 25 balls, including two huge sixes out of the ground.
Thanks to him, 87 runs came from the last ten overs to lift Bicester to 220-4.
Maidenhead were tied down early on
And when Tauqeer Hussain injured his back, Paul Jeacock took over, and he and Lee Mason bowled together for the rest of the innings.
Mason bowled 18 overs straight through to take 6-53, with Jeacock claiming 3-26 as the hosts were bowled out for 109.
Captain Ian Bryan took two magnificent catches to lead the team to victory.
