Woodstock Harriers' biathle ace Richard Dunbabin secured the gold medal in the Masters A group in the fourth race of the World Tour in Herogenbosch, Holland.
Dunbabin completed the continuous 1000m run, 100m swim, 1000m run in 9mins 03secs.
The race was particularly close, but Dunbabin showed a strong finish to edge out 2004 World Series winner, Italian Ismaele Fusco, by one second.
Dunbabin now leads the series ahead of this weekend's competition in Weymouth, where he and Fusco will be battling it out among the leaders in the British leg of the season.
