FORGIVE me for prolonging the correspondence regarding bloodsports and religion, but I object to being misquoted by Mick Heavey (letters, March 26).
I did not write “all life was created by a loving God” – that is not my belief, but it is apparently the belief of some and they claim the right to hunt. It is ludicrous to suggest that carnivorous abilities excuse human proclivity towards flesh-eating – and certainly not hunting.
I remain unmoved by Mr Heavey’s attempts at humour and am dismissive of any Biblical texts used to support any theory, so I guess that rules out any attempts by priests of any denomination to excuse believers who hunt and kill for sport.
