WHEN I read that a cooperative, which soon hopes to be running a direct train service from Oxford to Swindon wants people to chip in to help, l was sure it was an April Fool prank.
A bunch of people called The Go! Co-operative? They sound like an ‘indy’ band for a start, rather than businesspeople aiming to link Oxford with Swindon, Chippenham, Westbury and Yeovil.
Cooperation and innovation don’t normally feature prominently in the UK’s not-very-integrated transport system so I will wait to see, rather than pledge any funds towards this project – but I wish them well all the same.
