The acting skills of Rosamund Pike — a superb Hedda Gabler at the Playhouse this week – were spotted during her student days at Wadham College by our critic Giles Woodforde.
Reviewing her performance in David Hare’s Skylight at the Old Fire Station, in November 2000, Giles wrote of the formidable demands of her role.
He continued: “This requires acting of the highest quality, and I must admit I had my doubts before seeing this student production.
“In fact, direction and acting are not only of a professional standard; they are of an extremely high professional standard.”
Well done, that man!
