PUPILS at a primary school had a chance to learn about diet and drugs when Life Education Centres visited St John the Evangelist CofE Primary School, Carterton.

Hugh Fraser, whose fuel retailing business, Fraser Group, helped pay for the visit, is pictured with Julie Grew, of Life Education Centres, the school’s health co-ordinator Emma Hughes, and charity mascot Harold the Giraffe.

Life Education is a charity which visits primary schools across Oxfordshire to help children make ‘healthy choices’. It works from mobile classrooms to deliver programmes including the importance of a healthy diet and exercise, emotional well-being and drug prevention education.

Ms Grew said: “Our aim is to help children make healthy choices.

Mr Fraser said: “We were very impressed with Life Education and wanted to help bring them to the school. Anything that helps teachers educate youngsters about life and the problems that are out there is good.”

Last year, the charity visited more than 160 schools, reaching 35,000 children.

Mr Fraser encouraged other businesses to get involved by going to the website lifeeducationcentres-thamesvalley.org.uk
