ONCE again May Day is nearly here. May I, through your paper, respectfully ask the colleges to ask their students to behave on May Morning.

Last year a group of people ‘entertained’ us with drums at 6am when we would have preferred to have listened to the Magdalen Choir singing.

Police removed cans of alcohol from students worse for wear.

Generally it seems that some students aren’t interested in the May Day celebrations but spoil it for those of us who are.

And of course those of us east of the bridge are unable to go across because of the behaviour of some students in 2005.

Can they not enjoy themselves without getting drunk and spoiling it for everyone else?

How about sending down students who misbehave.

I’m not a killjoy but I would like to be able to hear the singing and enjoy the occasion without it being spoilt.
